Auntie Em, Auntie Em!!!

I think i just saw Dorthy’s house fly by…..

It is so incredibly WINDY here tonight!!!!  And raining.

I am proud to report though I woke up today!  I got almost 9 hours of sleep last night, aaaahhhhhh.  I also took some Nyquil too, I definitely have a cold.  It helped shut up my cough.

Much of today’s food went undocumented, I forgot my phone at home.  Oopsie.

BREAKFAST- 1/2 c oats, 1T ground flax, 1T almond butter, 1T pumpkin butter

SNACK- Chashew Cookie Larabar

LUNCH- more left over soup & some plain greek yogurt w/ cantaloupe and mango

SNACK- Pirates Booty & an orange

After work I had a meeting, I’m a co-chair for an annual cleanup day in our town.  The rain was not inspiring me though for my workout afterwards.  I debated on going to the gym, but bit the bullet and went for it.  My quads have been sore today from all of yesterday’s squats.  I wasn’t sure how my speed session would go.

Workout: 4 miles w/ 3 miles @ 7:30 pace

As I warmed up I wasn’t sure if I could hold the 7:30 for 3 miles, but thanks to some mind games I made it.  I originally told myself I’d do 2 miles, but then I talked myself into 2.5, then told myself that .5 more wasn’t that much and I might as well do the original workout.  Tada… 3 miles at 7:30.  :-)

I was very pleased with my workout.  My legs felt good even though they had been sore all day.  Sometimes a run is all you need to help your sore muscles…. amazingly.

I was also very pleased to arrive home to find the hubby making dinner, yay!!!!

DINNER- pesto pizza w/ chicken & mushrooms

I also roasted some brussels sprouts.  YUMMY!

Now the hubby and I are relaxing, watching some Olympics…… while it pours and the wind howls.  This is winter in New England??!!  Craziness!  I hope the mountains aren’t losing too much snow.  Slacker me still has yet to go skiing this year!!!  But we are DEFINITELY going next weekend, the hubby even booked us a hotel one night so we can out near the ski area that night…..a mini vacation!

Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!!   Anything fun planned for the weekend?? The hubby & I are hitting up kettlebell after work tomorrow, then maybe heading out for dinner.  Not sure what we have for Saturday…. but Sunday I have a 16 miler planned, the hubby has a bowl-a-thon fundraiser that I might join in on and then we are headed to a friend’s house to watch the gold medal round for hockey!!!

      Fortunately the wind finally died down early this morning! Lots of folks are without power though. We were lucky and just had it go off and then come back on a few times. Trees & branches down everywhere, lots of streams are close to flood stage too. What crazy weather for February!!

      As I have found, in order to run fast…. you gotta run fast. Hoping to keep picking the pace back up!

I’m hoping its warm enough here to run outside this weekend (its been unseasonably cold in S Carolina). Great dinner- especially those brussels. Sounds like you have a great weekend planned! We will probably lay low tonight. Tomorrow I’m teaching in the morning and then we’re going to a beer fest! I will just be watching and taking all the beer drinking in!
